ELIGIBILITY: The Fall Home Buyers Guide Sweepstakes (“Sweepstakes”) is open only to individuals who are legal residents of any of the following counties: Washington, DC, Anne Arundel County, Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Cecil County, Harford County, Howard County, Calvert County, Caroline County, Dorchester County, Kent County, Queen Anne’s County, Talbot County, Wicomico County, Worcester County, Montgomery County, Carroll County, Frederick County, Washington County, Prince George’s County, Charles County, St. Mary’s County, Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax County, Loudoun County, Prince William County, Albemarle County, Culpeper County, Fauquier County, Fluvanna County, Goochland County, Henrico County, Louisa County, New Kent County, Orange County, Powhatan County, Caroline County, Fredericksburg City, King George County, Spotsylvania County, Stafford County, Clarke County, Frederick County, or Warren County. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. This Sweepstakes is sponsored by WP Company LLC d/b/a The Washington Post (“Sponsor”). Town & Country Movers, Inc., Next Day Blinds Corporation, Schedule Fred, Inc., Paragon Title & Escrow Company, N&D Security Company, and Maid Brigade Systems, Inc. are the prize providers (“Prize Providers”) and are solely responsible for fulfillment and execution of all prizes. Employees, officers, directors and representatives of Sponsor and Prize Providers and each of their respective affiliates, and immediate family members of, and any persons domiciled with, any such persons are not eligible. Void outside of the above counties in the District of Columbia, Virginia and Maryland and where prohibited by law. Sweepstakes subject to all federal, state and local laws.
HOW TO ENTER: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY: No purchase necessary to enter Sweepstakes. To enter, complete the entry form on the Sweepstakes entry page found at http://www.newhomesguide.com/sweepstakes, or, mail a 3 ½ “ x 5 “ postcard with your complete name, address, daytime phone number, email (optional), and date of birth to The Washington Post, Client Solutions - FHBG Sweepstakes, 1301 K Street, NW, Washington, DC 20071. The entry period of the Sweepstakes begins at 12:01 AM Eastern Time (“ET”) on September 1, 2019 and ends at 11:59 PM ET on September 30, 2019. Online entries must be submitted and received by Sponsor by 11:59 PM ET on September 30, 2019. Mail-in entries must be postmarked by September 30, 2019 and received by Sponsor by October 3, 2019. Limit one entry per person is permitted. Entries that are late, incomplete, unreadable, inaccurate, unintelligible or otherwise not in compliance with these Official Rules will be disqualified. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, destroyed or misdirected entries.
PRIZE: One grand prize is offered in this Sweepstakes. Total approximate retail value of grand prize is $10,490. Prize winner (“Winner”) will receive the following from Prize Providers:
· Town & Country Movers, Inc.: one (1) prize of moving services (valued at approximately $5,000). The prize must be redeemed for services with respect to which both the origin and destination are within a 40 mile radius of Washington, DC.
· Next Day Blinds Corporation: one (1) prize of Next Day Blinds Gift Card (valued at approximately $2,500). The prize expires on September 30, 2020, and it is only good for Next Day Blinds products (e.g. no Hunter Douglas products).
· Schedule Fred, Inc.: one (1) prize of $1,000 credit towards Fred Home Improvement services (valued at approximately $1,000). The work must be completed by April 1, 2020, and the home must be within a 20 mile radius of Washington, DC.
· Paragon Title & Escrow Company: a zero settlement fee closing (valued at approximately $880).
· N&D Security Company: one (1) prize of a $250 discount off a security system installation and six (6) months of free monitoring (valued at approximately $460). The prize must be redeemed for services within a 25 mile radius of Arlington, VA.
· Maid Brigade Systems, Inc.: one (1) prize of one residential deep clean (valued at approximately $400). Prize must be redeemed for services within a 25 mile radius of Washington, DC; and prize expires on April 30, 2020.
In addition, each prize is valid for one-time use only. If Winner elects to use less than the full amount of a prize at the time of redemption, any remainder of the prize will be forfeited and shall not be subject to further or alternative compensation. Prize Providers’ services are subject to availability and must be booked prior to intended use date as determined by Prize Provider. Winner must contact each Prize Provider directly to redeem prize, and Winner is responsible for complying with all conditions and requirements of the Prize Provider. Winner is not entitled to an exchange, transfer, substitution or cash equivalent of any prize element. Prize (or any elements of a prize) may not be exchanged. Sponsor and/or Prize Provider may substitute a prize (or a portion of a prize) with one of equal or greater retail value if a prize (or a portion of a prize) is unavailable or cannot be awarded for any reason. Winner will be solely responsible for reporting and payment of all applicable federal, state and local taxes associated with claiming this prize. Please consult your tax advisor regarding the tax implications and tax liabilities associated with winning any prize. Prize consists only of the elements expressly set forth above; no other elements or expenses are included in the Prize and all such expenses are the sole responsibility of Winner.
SELECTION OF WINNER: One (1) winner will be selected by random drawing conducted by representatives of Sponsor from among all eligible entries received on or before the entry Sweepstakes deadlines set forth above. Drawing will be held on or about October 4, 2019 at Sponsor’s offices. The winner will be notified by Sponsor on or about October 4, 2019 via email and/or telephone. Incomplete entries will not be accepted and will be ineligible. The odds of winning depend upon the total number of eligible entries received by Sponsor. Sponsor not obligated to leave voice mail, answering machine, or other message. In Sponsor’s sole discretion, a selected winner may be required to forfeit a prize and an alternate winner may be randomly selected in accordance with these Official Rules from among the remaining eligible entries for that prize if selected winner (i) is unreachable, (ii) declines or cannot accept, receive or use the prize for any reason, or (iii) fails to comply with these Official Rules, or for any other reason as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Winner must sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release (collectively, “Affidavit”), which among other things, releases Sponsor and Prize Providers from all liability relating to the prize and participating in the Sweepstakes, confirming that he/she has complied with the Sweepstakes Official Rules (including eligibility requirements contained herein), and accepting the prize as awarded. Winner must return the fully executed Affidavit to Sponsor (as directed by Sponsor) within seven (7) days of notification attempt or, in Sponsor’s sole discretion, the prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner may be selected.
Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, cancel or suspend this Sweepstakes (or any portion of the Sweepstakes) for any reason, including without limitation should any virus, bug, computer problem or other cause or problem corrupt or inhibit the administration, security or proper operation of the Sweepstakes and, in such situation (or in the event of any type of error), to select the winner from eligible entries received prior to and/or after the action taken or in such manner as deemed fair and appropriate by Sponsor. In no event will Sponsor be liable for more than the stated prize in these Official Rules. Sponsor may prohibit entrant from participating in the Sweepstakes or winning a prize if, in its sole discretion, it determines entrant is attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the Sweepstakes by cheating, hacking, deception, or other unfair practices or intending to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other entrant or Sponsor’s representatives. Releasees have not made and/or are not responsible for any misrepresentation or guaranty, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to the prize. By accepting a prize, winner agrees and acknowledges that Sponsor and/or Prize Provider may use winner's name, voice, biographical data, likeness and city name in any and all media throughout the universe and in perpetuity for promotional purposes without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law.
By entering the Sweepstakes, entrants agree that: (1) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with the Sweepstakes, or any prizes awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; (2) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering the Sweepstakes, but in no event will attorneys’ fees be awarded or recoverable; and (3) under no circumstances will any entrant be permitted to obtain any award for, and entrant hereby knowingly and expressly waives all rights to seek, punitive, incidental or consequential damages and/or any other damages, other than actual out-of-pocket expenses, and/or any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased.

Please specify “Official Rules” or “Winner”. Requests must be received by December 31, 2019.
